Recover the model.xml file from a published package

It is technically possible to recover the model.xml from a published Cognos package, but it is not an easy process to do manually.
With MetaManager, it is easy to quickly grab the model.xml from any package with just a couple of clicks.

To quickly identify all of the packages in your Cognos environment, you can run a search, using MetaManager's built in searchbar, for "//package"
Then simply right-click on the package you wish to recover the model.xml file from, and select "Download latest model"

You can then save the model.xml in a location of your choice and use that file to recreate the model (the portion of the model from that package) by loading it into Framework Manager.
